What firmware were you on before and what is the current firmware? Earlier versions of 4.0 had issues/bugs. Once you are on NVR GUI 4.0 it will not let you downgrade. You will just have issues displaying in the multi screen view in all main stream. Yes you can record all 12 of your 4mp cameras at the same time. By default it will be on balanced so it will automatically switch by itself. Either that or you manually set the cameras in the multi screen view to all realtime (main stream). When you double click to show the camera full screen is when it will switch to main stream. That being said, in the multi stream view you will be fine because those are showing cameras at a lower resolution. If you max out the decoding (viewing too many main stream video at once) then you will get a “No resources” error for certain cameras. The unit will be recording all channels at the highest resolution you have set the camera to but decoding is about viewing the live view or playback in main stream. Then there is the option to unbind Hik-connect accounts easily. Only thing I have seen that is a plus with the GUI 4.0 is that the later revisions have limited support for Firefox and Chrome so you will not be limited to IE. Unit seems to be recording but when you go back to look at your playback it seems footage disappears. Major thing about GUI 4.0 is the issue with the file system. the 3.4.X is still one of the better/stable interfaces. Yes it is the latest and greatest but they have a major bug on it that is still being fixed. Having GUI 4.0 for the unit is not what it seems. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.Įdit: I changed the title, the old one was too generic. So I'm trashing old cable and buying a new solid copper one. Which type of problem may I encounter? Should I trash this cable and buy a solid copper cable? (I have not connected the camera yet).Įdit: I've read a lot about this. Then my secondary concern: I've bought 305 meters of cat6 UTP 23 AWG LAN cable but is CCA, not solid copper. So I'm asking you: can I record all the 12 4MP streams and live view all the 12 cameras with a different resolution, using another main stream or a sub stream lower than 4MP? Is this a possible scenario? Or is there another possible solution to live view all the 12 cameras at the same time? (something like an "Auto change stream type" option that is valid only for live view) I can record all the streams but I can not live view all the streams at the same time. I've studied a lot of specifications of different NVR but this appear to me as a limit even in the most expensive HikVision NVR. Then, I discovered (reading this forum) that I must pay attention to decoding capability of my DVR.ĭS-7616NI-I2 can decode 8-ch 4MP (30fps), so I cannot live view all the 12 4MP cameras at once! Now here you are my main concern: I need to broadcast the live view on all my TVs, so I bought a DVB modulator that works flawlessly. Hope this is correct, so at the moment I'm ok and I can add other cameras in the future. Incoming bandwidth of DS-7616NI-I2 is 160Mbps.Īccording to what I read, I think that each camera set on 4MP/30fps H265+ should stream at approximately 6 or 8 Mbps. Cameras will be connected to two POE switches in two different floors and the NVR is on another floor. I don't need NVR with POE ports because of the LAN architecture of my home. Now I need a NVR to handle those cameras.ĭue to the fact that K serie is stuck on V3 firmware, I'm moving on I serie that has regular updates and V4 firmware. I've just bought 12 HikVision DS-2CD2343G0-I 2.8mm cameras (4MP, H265+, check link) I'm setting up a new system for video surveillance.
